The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities in several areas, including employment, transportation, public accommodations, communications and access to state and local government’ programs and services. As it relates to employment, Title I of the ADA protects the rights of both employees and job seekers. The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) (formerly called P.L. or the Education for all Handicapped Children Act of ) requires public schools to make available to all eligible children with disabilities a free appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment appropriate to their individual needs. This book was required for my law class on disabilities at the University of Pittsburgh. I took this class even though I have an MS in Neuroscience and I am finishing my doctorate in Science Education.
